| The Downriver Basketball League is a league that has been formed in and around the downriver area of southeastern Michigan. The Downriver Basketball League (DBL) will begin it's sixth season of play in 2003. The league is designed to offer a higher caliber of play than provided by a city's recreation program. Teams are usually organized within individual cities, with players from middle schools in their community. Many of the areas and states top teams/players continue to play basketball after the abbreviated school season has ended. This is a great opportunity to keep the players together for competitive basketball after the school season has ended. The DBL season does not conflict with other Middle School activities, since games are played on weekends. Below is a listing of the separate divisions and approximate playing season. 6th grade Girls and Boys Dec 6th thru Feb 1st 7th and 8th grade Girls Nov 8th thru Jan 24th 7th and 8th grade Boys Feb 8th thru Mar 28th To register a team or for inquiries, please e-mail Mike Zacny. |
